Practice Day Checklist

Stay organized before, during, and after every practice. A structured routine helps you make the most of your limited field time.

  • Review your practice plan and know the drills you'll run
  • Pack equipment bag — balls, bats, tees, cones, bases, first aid kit
  • Bring a full water cooler or remind parents about water bottles
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to inspect the field for hazards
  • Set up stations and lay out cones/equipment before players arrive
  • Greet every player by name as they arrive
during
  • Take attendance and note any absent players
  • Start with a dynamic warm-up (jog, high knees, arm circles, stretching)
  • Run skill-focused drills with clear instructions and demonstrations
