How to Run This Drill
  1. 1
Place the tee at normal height. Hitter starts 3 feet behind their usual stance.
  2. 2
Take two slow walking steps toward the tee, timing the stride so the front foot plants just before the swing.
  3. 3
Focus on transferring weight from back foot to front foot as you swing.
  4. 4
10 reps at a slow walk, then 10 at a faster walk.
  5. 5
Finish with 5 swings from a normal stance to feel the difference.

Coaching Tips
  • This drill teaches weight transfer naturally — no need to over-explain mechanics.
  • Watch that they don't lunge. The stride should be controlled, not a dive forward.
  • Great for kids who hit flat-footed or have no rhythm in their swing.
