How to Run This Drill
  1. 1
Set tee at belt height. Hitter takes 5 swings, driving line drives.
  2. 2
Lower the tee to knee height. Hitter takes 5 swings, keeping the ball in the air (slight uppercut).
  3. 3
Alternate: 1 high, 1 low for 10 total swings.
  4. 4
Coach watches for swing adjustments — hitters should bend at the knees for low pitches, not drop their hands.
Equipment Needed
  • Adjustable batting tee
  • Baseballs
  • Bat
  • Net or fence
Coaching Tips
  • Low pitches: bend the knees more, don't drop the hands. Let the legs do the work.
  • High pitches: stay on top — hands inside, compact swing, line drive contact.
  • This drill exposes hitters who have only one swing for every pitch.
