How to Run This Drill
  1. 1
    Full defense takes the field.
  2. 2
Coach hits balls — ground balls, fly balls, line drives — to all positions.
  3. 3
Every clean play (field + accurate throw) counts as 1 out.
  4. 4
Any error resets the count to zero (or back by 3 for a less intense version).
  5. 5
Team must reach 21 outs to finish the drill.
Equipment Needed
  • Baseballs (bucket)
  • Gloves
  • Bat (for fungo)
  • Full field setup
Coaching Tips
  • This drill builds team accountability — one player's error affects everyone.
  • For younger teams, use a lower number (7 or 14) or don't reset to zero.
  • Mix in easy plays and hard plays to keep everyone on their toes.
