Knee Drill — Arm Path

Players throw from one knee to isolate the upper body and focus on proper arm path and follow-through.

How to Run This Drill

    Partners face each other 30-40 feet apart, both on their throwing-side knee.
  2. 2
    Glove-side foot forward and flat on the ground.
  3. 3
    Throw using only upper body — focus on elbow above shoulder, full extension, follow-through.
  4. 4
    15-20 throws, then stand up and throw normally.

  • Baseballs
  • Gloves
Coaching Tips
  • Great way to start every practice — builds the habit of good arm action.
  • Watch for short-arming. Elbow should get above the shoulder.
  • Follow through — throwing hand finishes past the opposite hip.
